Shanghai culinary institution Azul has taken up new residence at Ferguson Lane on Wukang Road. Azul Tapas Lounge takes a selection of the most popular items from the original Azul and adds an eclectic mix of original Mediterranean dishes from the South of Italy, Southern France, Spain, Greece and Morocco - all in a beautifully-designed space including two verandas overlooking the French Concession.
Over 30 tapas are available along with boards to share, main courses, soups and salads. Azul Tapas Lounge features Argentinean steaks prepared in the traditional style straight from the grill: perfectly seasoned, grilled, and served with a classic Chimichurri Sauce.
The wine list consists of 60 select wines starting from 140 RMB/bottle, with 20 bottles available below 200 RMB. A glass of house wine starts at 30 RMB.
Eduardo Vargas is behind the menu, recipes and all operations. The Chef de Cuisine, Gabriel Rodriguez, comes directly from Venezuela via the Cordon Bleu in Paris, Arzak, El Bulli (Spain), BLT and Nobu (New York City).
